The Irish operation of Northgate Vehicle Hire, market leader in flexible vehicle hire and complete fleet solutions, is performing at its best ever rate with a 15% growth per annum, despite the trials and tribulations faced by many Irish businesses in the current market.

After contemplating closing 18 months ago, the business opened new depots in Cork and Limerick in 2012, in addition to its base in Belfast and depot in Dublin. Now more profitable than it was pre-recession, Northgate also appointed two local staff at the Limerick depot and is recruiting for five new positions throughout 2013.

Northgate CEO, Bob Contreras, commented:
"We had to look hard at the business, its model and its people but, after successfully making it through this transition and investing in a local team who knows the local market, we are currently prospering. And not only are we prospering in Ireland, but elsewhere in the UK too. Our Irish operation has been our learning curve and, while there have been some incredibly dark days, the future now looks bright."

Northgate opened its Limerick depot, located on Cathedral Place in Limerick City, after increased demand from customers in the West of Ireland. The Cork depot is located in Ballytrasna, Little Island. Both depots are approximately 2000sq ft in size and cater for walk in rentals and private hire.
